I’m currently in Germany looking for trouble (no actually im traveling) and for art shit. I’ve seen stickers, amazing magazine layouts, graffitis and random doodle in the streets. I haven’t uploaded my pictures yet but I’m quite envious of how urban art is growing in their cities. This week I travelled to Frankfurt, Koln, Heidelburg and now in Strasbourg. Wish me luck that I see more cool shit.
I find it a big waste when I don’t work on my old artworks so I’ve decided to recycle them into small pieces of art. This will be my first one and it’s a good thing I posted it on a thursday. It fits the “throwbackthursday” trend that everyone is talking about so i’ll just post old artworks haha~ Plus I don’t like my old baby photos, I look like a cute Chukie.
When I go traveling, I really like taking midnight walks around the city looking for cool stickers, signs or some graffiti if I’m lucky. Here’s some of my pictures from Shibuya at 11:00 PM. Hope some of the designs inspire you. :)
OUT ON VACATION & SOUL SEARCHING (better known as being emo) ~ ♥
It’s a good habit for me to visit exhibits/ art galleries when I need design inspirations for work and the best so far was Botong’s from the prestigious Ayala Museum last March! Being a baby of urban art doesn’t mean that I stick to one style, I need to go out and learn more of what other people can do with their style so I prefer visiting national artists’ work. So I hope you guys didn’t miss the exhibit last March because it was superb! Not only did he painted a detailed depiction of our history but also made me miss the good ol days were Harana was made to court (and not Facebook) and Bayanihan (and not LBC). Haha I wish I lived in the old days…but wait there won’t be photoshop. :P
I had the honor to pitch my work for At Night management (Avicii’s team) for Avicii’s residency in Ibiza, Spain. Unfortunately, I didn’t get it but nevertheless, as my mom would say, try again! :) Anyways! I had so much fun working on them because the theme was “Avicii” or defined as lower level of Buddhist hell. So it’s definitely asian! haha :)
Happened last March 16, 2013 in Jaime Velasquez Park Salcedo Village, Makati, Art in the Park is so far my best art event for the first quarter of the year. Can’t say that I stayed longer due to work but I definitely had a blast by being an observer, guest, artist and best of all sales lady! Haha! I was playing in Val and Ate Aleyn’s tent and it was really great! Hope to join next year! :)

I’ve been using a lot of purple lately but I don’t really mind because the color is my current fave! Starting from Katy Perry’s hair to my artwork commissions, I think it’s the new black. (-_-) Oh and btw I dyed my hair plum color haha! So what is up with the purple shade?? Anyways, here’s a beautiful artwork I made for illuminatink! She gave me a reference picture via IG and I enjoyed drawing this because it has color purple! haha~
Just finished a crammed artwork I did for Hardwell’s REVEALED RECORDINGS contest! Actually, it’s for his label mate, Dyro. The contest primarily just aims to have fans all over the world contribute an album art cover for the new single, Leprechauns & Unicorns. Winner gets to have their artwork used as an “official” album art so I’m really crossing my fingers to get it! I’m a bit 50/50 with the design but the deadline is too tight for me. Hope I win tho.
I had the honor of being invited for an album fundraiser exhibit for Ketsana, an album project, of Mr. Tek Templo. Surprisingly I didn’t know that it was my former teacher, who, 5 years ago gave me a good start with college, was actually having the exhibit! So imagine the shock and excitement I had after I met the artist! Haha the good old times! The exhibit showcased Iphone-taken-photos from different parts of Manila city. Prof Tek took his photography to the beautiful details of the metro. Small street types, gate locks, jeep steels and other things we usually don’t pay attention to are given much emphasis on this exhibit. It’s really detailed and eye catchy! After the exhibit, I enjoyed a few minutes listening to REKLAMO band who actually had the most amazing tattoos in my opinion. Here’s my fave tat from one of their bandmates! Shout out to Ms Ten Ten Abella and Mr Tek Templo for organizing this amazing exhibit!

Favorite track for the month and therefore it deserves a fan art! I love drawing Maki while listening to one of my fave producers in the EDM scene, Porter Robinson & Mat Zo. The MV is really nice too! It’s a blast in the past kind of thing when it comes to the art style but it really reminded me of the old Ghost in the Shell/ Matrix animation videos. Gahd I’m old! haha! Throwbackthursday! Well it’s not really a long long time ago but I drew Camille Co’s design back then using the actual dress bought from her lovely shop Coexist. There were no existing pictures of Camille wearing it back then but now she posted one! The details were a killer but drawing the whole thing was super fun! So check it out and hope you guys like it!

1.) Finally grabbed a new Munny design of Junko Mizuno from Ronac Art Center! It was so hard to find one because Junko’s design is rarely available in Kidrobot but luckily the staff from Fresh Manila store sold it to me! Yey for awesome customer service!
2.) I’m working on new blog header commissions and it’s my first international client! Woohoo! Hope she likes it soon but the concept is really urban art and full of scary monsters! (my kind of style actually!)
3.) One of my dream job is actually to be a DJ! Believe it or not! Haha so I’m working on Garage Band, Logic Pro 9 and Traktor DJ in my spare time. It’s really hard work but it keeps me inspired since I love EDM so much!
4.) Also! I’m investing in making my little studio in the house! I can’t always work in the kitchen, my mom’s big ass bathroom, my dad’s warehouse office, garden, etc. Haha! So I searched through a lot of furniture shops and found this cute and mini (my size) chair & table in MUJI Fort Bonifacio branch!
5.) Fan art is also one of my craves, so I’m working now on Porter Robinson & Mat Zo’s Easy MV Character named Maki. Porter has been one of my favorite EDM artists and his music just keeps on inspiring me to draw more and work harder! Would you believe he’s such an EDM superstar at a young age? 20?!
6.) Pitching artworks to clients is also one of my biggest challenges and this particular project is a BIG BIG ONE! Hopefully it pushes through because this artwork will change my career! So please pray for me! but I’m going to give my very best!
Baguio is always the best place to relax if you’re looking for a cold and misty weather in this tropical island. Therefore we, Valerie, Irene, Ate Chu and Ate Aleyn and me, stayed for 3 days up in the mountains exploring. So! Best place I recommend for art lovers (like us) is definitely the Ben Cab museum, located gahd knows where, (just kidding), you can google it up and it’s around 40 to 30 minutes from the main city. There’s an entrance of 100 PHP and kids get in for free but theirs a certain height requirement (so I didn’t get in free). The museum is around 3 floors with a cafe, mini store and packed with different painting themes. I really loved the architecture of the whole place and the paintings are all amazing! So I highly recommend it!

Aside from listening to KPOP and urban music here’s one of my favorite genres, EDM or electronic dance music. I don’t really know if it’s a genre, specifically speaking, but all I know that I can really dance in a club with it. So here’s my first album cover of my good friend DJ Amistocino! Make up is one of my favorite things in the world! It adds color to my life actually! So to feature my favorite make up blogger, here’s an illustration of Marj Sia from marjsia.com or formerly known as The Traveling Heels! I did purchase her Catwalk Cosmetics palette before and I use it almost everyday when I go to work or in fieldwork. The colors are really vibrant and there’s so much to choose from! Aside from her awesome make up brand, Marj also shows make up tutorials in her blog which is really helpful. Give a shout out to my fave make up gal at her blog and say Meow! ♥
I’m back again to Korea for a short business trip with LG Philippines! It’s pretty awesome to go back in Seoul since it’s my 2nd home and what’s more special is this place, Sinsa-dong Garosu-gil! It’s part of Gangnam district and a few minutes away from Myeondong. The small street is packed of concept cafes, fashion boutiques, vintage stores and some small clubs. I love every part of the street because every building is unique and carefully designed by art lovers and coffee addicts. Furthermore, Garosugil is named as the mini Europe of Seoul, so if you’re an art & coffee lover, you’ll definitely love this place!
I love everything graffiti and urban so I take time to shoot small stickers and graffiti signs in every country I go to, here’s one that I found in the street.
I’m a nerd, so I definitely have the specs but here’s my favorite glasses store in Korea, ALO Eyewear. Their designs are really cute and urban-like, my style of course. Plus their price ranges from 3,000 to 5,000 PHP so pretty cheap compared with the usual Ray Bans.
The above picture shows a unique building shaped out of a bag and yes they sell BAGS. Small stores like this are common in Garosugil and I really like this building because it sells the point. Literally. Hahaha anyways they sell customized bags and other leatherwear.
And! Your visit won’t be complete without drinking some coffee in one of Garosugil cafes. We picked TWOSOME COFFEE for their delicious cappuccino and cozy place. So I really recommend this place for your next Korea visit!
